Your personal mission statement:

Here is one of those "little" things that the Rebbe
(Menachem Mendel Schneerson) would urge people to do:

Each morning, right upon awakening, take a moment -- the first
moment of your new day -- to acknowledge G-d for returning
your soul to you.

Say to G-d:

I offer thanks to You, O living and everlasting king, that you have
restored my soul within me; great is your faithfulness.

Think: Once again, as G-d has done every morning -- and indeed
every moment -- or your life, G-d has placed a soul within you and
made your existence significant. G-d has put
you on earth with a
distinct and unique mission: to bring G-d's presence into your
corner of the universe.

Try to make this your first conscious thought of the day, and
the first words you speak.

Train yourself to do this every morning, and your entire life
will gain a new, sharper focus.

Give ear to  my words, O Lord, consider my mediation.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God:
for unto thee will I pray.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee,
and will look up.

Psalm 5: 1-3
The Holy Bible, King James Version

Look to this day,
For it is life,
The life of life.
In its brief course lie all
The realities and verities of existence,
The bliss of growth,
The splendor of action,
The glory of power ---

For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision,
But today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Sanskrit Proverb

God-in-man makes all things new. When realizes the
Christ Spirit within, everything changes for him. For then
he begins to see beauty instead of ugliness, love instead
of hate; to realize health instead of sickness. The world
becomes fresh and new, as when after rain you can look
out on an earth washed clean, and shining with sunlight.

_______________________

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy
mercy in the morning: for thou has been my defense and
refuge in the day of my trouble.

Psalm 59:16
The Holy Bible, King James Version

Lord, even though I face a busy day
(or have just lived through one!)
even though I find myself running from this to that,
from here to there, I still want to crawl into the shelter of
Your arms. Even though my life moves at a blur;
I want to still myself in Your strength.
I want to rest in Your protection and tender care,
even when I feel like I'm wrestling alligators.
I take refuge in You, Jesus.
This day, all day, and all days.

And now the Last Word:

Do we truly matter? Would the world be any
different if any one of us had not been born?
But we were born. Think of it: G-d performed the
amazing miracle of birth just so each one of us would
be here right now.

This is why the Rebbe (Schneerson) believed so
passionately in the power of action.

The Rebbe would often point out: The very fact that
you are here, in this place, at this time and with these
opportunities available to you, means that there is
something to be done -- something that only you can
do, something of utmost importance to G-d.

Think of it. And then do it.
