Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

RIVER AND SKY
Move our hearts with the calm,
smooth flow of your grace.
Let the river of your love
run through our souls.
May my soul be carried
by the current of your love,
toward the wide, infinite ocean of heaven.
Stretch out my heart with your strength,
as you stretch out the sky above the earth.
Smooth out any wrinkles of hatred or resentment.
Enlarge my soul that it may know more fully
your truth.
Gilbert of Hoyland (died c. 1170)
Abbot of the Cistercian monastery of Swineshead, Lincolnshire
_________
Deprive your soul of spiritual water, and your soul will tell you.
Dehydrated hearts send desperate messages. Snarling tempers.
Waves of worry. Growling mastodons of guilt and fear. You think
God wants you to live with these?...
Treat your soul as you treat your thirst. Take a gulp. Imbibe
moisture. Flood your heart with a good swallow of water.

_________
I threw my cup away when I saw a child
drinking from his hands at the trough.
Diogenes (c. 460 BC)
Greek philosopher

He who builds His layers in the sky,
And has founded His strata in the earth;
Who calls for the waters of the sea,
And pours them out on the face of the earth --
The Lord is His name.
Amos 9: 6
The Holy Bible
New King James Version
And now, the Last Word:
My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.
Psalm 42: 1
The Holy Bible
New International Version

If one observes the Way of Heaven;
and maintains Its doings (as his own),
all that he has to do is accomplished.
