Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

Today, I will remind myself as often as necessary that I am not
a victim, and I do not need to be victimized by whatever comes
my way. I will work hard to remove myself as a victim, whether
that means setting and enforcing a boundary, walking away,
dealing with my feelings, or giving myself what I need. God,
help me let go of my need to feel victimized.

It is not so much that we need to be taken out of exile.
It is that the exile must be taken out of us.

Your trials did not come to punish you,
but to awaken you.
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952)

Denial is a powerful tool. Never underestimate its
ability to cloud your vision.
Be aware that, for many reasons, we have become experts
at using this tool to make reality more tolerable. We
have learned well how to stop the pain caused by reality -
not by changing our circumstances, but by pretending our
circumstances are something other than what they are.
Do not be too hard on yourself. While one part of you was
busy creating a fantasy-reality, the other part went
to work on accepting the truth.
Now, it is time to find courage. Face the truth.
Let it sink gently in.
When we can do that, we will be moved forward.

Living is not thinking. Thought is formed and guided by
objective reality outside us. Living is the constant adjustment
of thought to life and life to thought in such a way that we are
always growing, always experiencing new things in the old
and old things in the new. Thus life is always new.

You're bound to become a Buddha if you practice.
If water drips long enough even rocks wear through.
Shih-wu (1272-1352)
Chinese Buddhist sage and poet
And now, the Last Word:
The oldest brother or sister is born first,
but the wise person anytime.
