Dear Readers,
Is peace the absence of turmoil or is turmoil the absence of peace?
Does it matter? A definition based upon the absence of something else
negates the substance of the defined. Peace is a holy creation. Peace is
present in and of itself. Think of it this way: we define darkness as the
absence of light, not light as the absence of darkness. Light is substance.
So peace is not the absence of strife. Peace is proactive because God
created it and offers it to us; the very breath of God is Peace. When we
live in Him we are living in the loving heart of Peace - no need to search
for it apart from the Lord. Practice love upon all beings of this
great universe and you are living in peace.

Peace in Our Homes
May it prevail in this household...
May our words be gentle, our actions loving,
Our intentions honorable...
For a peaceful world can be created only by those
who practice peace, each moment of each day
in their hearts and in their homes.

_________
The peace which is the most important is that which comes
to the souls of people when they realize their relationship,
their oneness with the universe.

_________
If in our daily life we can smile, if we
can be peaceful and happy, not only we but
everyone will profit from it. This is the
most basic kind of peace work.
Thich Nhat Hanh (1926 - )

First there was One. There was no peace, because there was
nothing with which to make peace. There was only One.
Then there was Two. There was Plurality. From this point on,
an infinite cacophony of conflict extended in all directions
and forever.
And on the third day G-d created peace.
Peace is not homogeneity. Peace does not mean that everyone
thinks the same way. Peace is when there is plurality
that finds a higher Oneness.
