Dear Readers,
Honestly, sometimes I don't know how the Lord puts up with me. A few
nights ago, there I was in the wee hours, wrestling with some angst, until
finally I threw up my hands mentally and said, "Lord, I just can't do this
without your help." And a voice in my head answered, "Well, why did
you try to do it without me in the first place?" I keep forgetting that I
don't have to try do things on my own first. What a concept - letting
the Father grace us from the beginning instead of toughing it
out on our own for a while. Duh...

In God's hands. How often we say that and want to be able
to believe it, but such surrender demands so much faith and
trust in God. We would much prefer doing everything our-
selves rather than putting things in God's hands. It seems
hard enough just to stop working and worrying long enough
to spend time with God in prayer, let alone having the trust
to turn over our lives and let God "worry" for us...
...We have to let God share by trusting and letting God into
the practical, day-to-day side of our lives. We have to let
God act. And if we do, then our prayer takes on all kinds
of new dimensions...
...One who can put things in God's hands and trust God grows
daily in the knowledge that for one who loves God,
all things work together unto good...

The Lord knows the course of our thoughts. He does not
reveal Himself to us until we have surrendered to Him
our last worldly desire; until each of us says: "Father,
guide and possess me."

Heaven has given us the right, the choice, the power,
and the resources to take the cards we've been dealt,
no matter how lousy and unfortunate, and to sculpt
from them a life of beauty and significance that
glorifies God and leads the way for others.

is Working You or Someone You Love,"

Real self-conquest is the conquest
of ourselves not by ourselves but
by the Holy Spirit. Self-conquest
is really self-surrender.

The Last Word:
Whenever your mind wanders in the maze
of myriad worldly thoughts, patiently
lead it back to remembrance
of the indwelling Lord.
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952)
Indian yogi and guru
