Welcome To The Religion Network!

I'm Lisa Bowman, editor of The Religion Network, a multi-faith Web site. This site provides inspirational quotes through an
exploration of a new spiritual theme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Religion network is offered with the
conviction that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and furthermore, that finding the commonalities
among the world's religions is more healing than pointing up their differences.

Religion as an institution is a precious gift, blessing individuals and uplifting communities. However you choose to
worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

ON TODAY'S SITE:

Lori Shankle, Book of Psalms, Bob Hurd, The Rebbe, Tzvi Freeman

Dear Readers,

Bob Hurd's beautiful hymn, "Come, Come Unto Me" was playing in my brain as I awoke this
morning. I've included the lyrics to its chorus on today's site. It was a great way to start the
day. It's such a bonus to discover the mind is able to pray even when one is asleep. I knew
before my feet hit the carpet that today's subject would about how "wonderfully" our Maker
created us; how we are cherished by Him as if we each were the only thing He ever made.
He thinks of us as sparkling jewels in His crown.

So, go ahead, announce to the world that you are God's favorite child! Of course, so am I,
and so is she...and so his he...and so are they...and so are we all...but hooray, it's still true!

The way you are put together is unique -
different from any other. Even identical
twins can be distinguished by voice or
mannerisms. God has designed you won-
derfully well. He thinks about you
every minute of every day. He has
a special purpose just for you,
a niche only you can fill.

O Lord, thou has searched me, and known me.

For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalm 139:1, 13-15
The Holy Bible
King James Version

Come, come unto me,
I will make you a jewel.
Precious and rare,
the glory you'll share,
in the crown of God.

Why do parents love their children? Because the lower
world reflects the higher world. And above, there is a
Parent and He loves his children.

Why do parents of an only child have such an unbounded
love for their child? Because this is the truest reflection of
the world above: Above, each on of us is an only child,
and His love to us is unbounded.

The Last Word:

When I consider thy heavens,
the work of thy fingers, the moon
and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou are mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than
the angels, and hast crowned him
with glory and honor.

Psalm 8:3-5
The Holy Bible
King James Version
